IGLTA cancels global convention for May 2020

Travel Daily MediaThe International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA) announced the postponement of its annual global convention due to the current threat with the COVID-19 Coronavirus. The convention was scheduled to take place in Milan, Italy, from 6-9 May, 2020, but the association said it will push the event to September or October this year.

ftnNEWS – The IGLTA Board of Directors released the following statement about the postponement of their Annual Global Convention in 2020 in Milan.

“There are no more resilient, intrepid and confident travel leaders anywhere in the world than in the International LGBTQ+ Travel Association.

Therefore, we are determined to host our Annual Global Convention in 2020 in Milan. At the same time, we must be prudent and sensitive to health and safety precautions and to the actual conditions on the ground. We have decided to postpone our convention in Milan until this September/October.

Coronavirus: IGLTA postpones Milan conference

TRAVEL WEEKLY – The coronavirus outbreak has forced the International LGBTQ+ Travel Association (IGLTA) to postpone its annual global convention, which was due to be held in Milan on May 6-9.

Italy is the worst-hit country in Europe and the Italian government has taken measures to isolate 10 towns in the north.

It has also ordered school and university closures throughout Italy and all sporting fixtures will be played behind closed doors.
